Dualshock 3 Announced for North America
Wow, today is a really big day for SONY related news. First we get info on the MGS4 release date and bundle, then we get a tidbit about the God of War PSP-2000 bundle, and now we get one of the biggest announcements thus far. To find out what it is keep on reading.

At a recent retailer event, SCEA announced a release date and price for the Japan exclusive PS3 peripheral, the DUAL SHOCK 3. First of all, it will be available for North America for the first time this April. According to the Playstation.Blog there will be over a hundred DS3 compatible games when it is released. Included in this amount are the ever popular UNCHARTED: Drakes Fortune, Warhawk, Resistance: Fall of Man, and various PSN Titles. The biggest game, that also releases in April, to use the DS3 is Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.
The price of this cool controller will be US$54.99, $5 off the price of the original SIXAXIS. The post did not mention any colors but it is assumed that black will be the default color. The biggest tidbit relating to the DS3 is that it will be included in a bundle for the PS3 along with MGS4.
If you don’t want to pay the hefty shipping fee for this item you can wait until April but if you want a white flavored one or you want to experience “Last Gen” Rumble right now order it from play-asia.

This should a be a standard for the PS3. Companies are money hungry these days. I can remember when systems were sold with TWO controllers. [I don't think that is to much to ask for] The new controller is a big step for the PS3.

Yes that is correct. It is a “DUAL SHOCK” branded controller. It also has the “SIXAXIS” branding so it also has motion controls.
